Growing up in the Yukon, I learned to play the mandolin from a Handy Bus driver named Wayne while singing in the elementary school choir.
It turned out I was full of hot air when I picked up the flute, so I was thankful when a brilliant teacher named Persephone encouraged me to play the piano by ear.
During high school, strumming the guitar turned out to be bully repellent, a phenomenon that empowered me to explore the magic of music even more.
After studying Classical Music History in college and playing drums in a punk band, I traveled to Europe to busk, work in hotels, and exchange my enthusiasm for room and board on organic farms.
Inspired by my experiences, I began writing books and facilitating international development workshops in elementary schools on topics like Where Do Bananas Come From?
As my books were being translated into multiple languages, I happily moved across the country to teach babies, toddlers and preschoolers in a Montessori-based program how to move to music... or did they teach me?
Playing with rhythm, rhyme and repetition has allowed me to produce hundreds of songs on a variety of instruments, and inspires me to make the magic of music and movement a meaningful experience for you.
Warmly,
Oliver Luke Delorie
Every noun sings a song.
We are either in or out of tune with other nouns.
Sing in tune with the nouns you want to be around.
